Shepherd’s Pie
A warm, hearty classic made with seasoned meat, veggies, and fluffy mashed potatoes — perfect for family dinners or meal prep.
📝 Ingredients (Serves 6):
For the Meat Filling:

1 lb (450g) lean ground lamb or beef

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup frozen peas and carrots

½ cup frozen corn (optional)

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

½ cup low-sodium beef broth
-
1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary

Salt & pepper, to taste
For the Mashed Potato Topping:

4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed

¼ cup low-fat milk
-
1 tbsp butter
-
Salt & pepper, to taste

Optional: ¼ cup shredded cheese for topping

Make the Filling:

In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until soft.

Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire, broth, herbs, and vegetables. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

Make the Mashed Potatoes:

Boil potatoes until fork-tender. Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until creamy.

Assemble the Pie:

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Spread meat filling in a baking dish. Top evenly with mashed potatoes.

Optionally sprinkle with cheese.
