Crispy, golden potato slices topped with melty cheese, fresh herbs, and a touch of spice – perfect as a side dish or crowd-pleasing appetizer!
✅ Ingredients:
For the Potato Rounds:
4 large round potatoes (or turnips as listed), peeled and sliced into ½-inch rounds
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp paprika (or cayenne if you like it spicy)
For the Topping:
½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Optional: chopped chives or green onion for garnish
👩🍳 Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare the Potatoes:
Slice the potatoes into ½-inch thick rounds. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Add the olive oil, salt, pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Toss until the potatoes are well coated.
Bake the Potato Rounds:
Arrange the seasoned rounds in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy on the edges.
Add the Cheese:
Remove the potatoes from the oven. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the rounds.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve:
Let the rounds cool slightly. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and optional chives or cilantro for a pop of flavor and color.
Serve warm as an appetizer, snack, or savory side dish.
🍽️ Tips for Perfect Rounds:
Soak potato slices in cold water for 30 minutes for extra crispiness. Pat dry before seasoning.
