Air Fryer Big Apple Fritters
Sweet, golden, and full of real apple chunks — made lighter in the air fryer!
Ingredients (Makes 6–8 large fritters):
-
2 medium apples, peeled and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
2 tbsp sugar
-
1½ tsp baking powder
-
½ tsp cinnamon
-
Pinch of salt
-
1 egg
-
⅓ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
-
1 tbsp melted butter or oil
-
Optional: powdered sugar or glaze for topping
For the Glaze (optional):
-
½ cup powdered sugar
-
1 tbsp milk
-
Dash of vanilla
Instructions:
-
Prep the Batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
Combine wet and dry ingredients, then gently fold in diced apples. -
Shape the Fritters:
Scoop about ¼ cup of batter per fritter and flatten slightly into a rough disc. Lightly spray air fryer basket with oil or use parchment with holes. -
Air Fry:
-
Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
-
Air fry fritters in batches for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.
-
-
Glaze (Optional):
Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm fritters or dust with powdered sugar.
✅ Tips:
-
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer — give each fritter space to rise and crisp.
-
Add raisins or chopped pecans for extra texture.
-
Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes.
