Mini Pizza Burgers
Ingredients
For the burger patties:
-
500 g (1 lb) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon dried oregano
-
1 teaspoon dried basil
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
For assembling the mini pizza burgers:
-
8–10 mini burger buns or slider buns
-
½ cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
Pepperoni slices (optional)
-
Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the burger patties:
-
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
-
Mix gently until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
-
Divide the mixture into small portions (about 50–60 g each) and shape into mini patties slightly smaller than the buns.
2. Cook the burger patties:
-
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add the mini patties in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
-
Cook for 3–4 minutes per side or until fully cooked and browned on the outside.
-
Remove from heat and set aside.
3. Assemble the mini pizza burgers:
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) or set the broiler to high.
-
Slice the mini buns in half.
-
Place the cooked burger patties on the bottom half of each bun.
-
Spoon 1–2 teaspoons of pizza sauce over each patty.
-
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top.
-
Add pepperoni slices if desired.
-
Place the assembled burgers on a baking tray and bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
4. Serve:
-
Place the top bun over the melted cheese.
-
Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
-
Serve immediately while hot and cheesy.
Tips for Perfect Mini Pizza Burgers:
-
Use ground beef with 15–20% fat for juicy patties.
-
You can swap mozzarella for cheddar or a pizza cheese blend.
-
Mini buns work best, but you can also use dinner rolls or slider buns.
-
Add sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives for extra pizza flavor.
