Air Fryer Pasta Chips

These crispy and crunchy air fryer pasta chips are a fun and tasty snack! They’re simple to make and perfect for parties, game day, or just a quick treat. Seasoned pasta is air-fried until golden and crisp  just like chips, but better!

 Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked pasta of your choice (Barilla Rigatoni was used here)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta:
Boil your pasta according to the package directions. For rigatoni, cook for 12 minutes for a firm bite (“al dente”).
  2. Drain and season:
Drain the cooked pasta and place it into a large bowl.
  3. Add flavor:
Add olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, oregano, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mix well:
Stir everything together until the pasta is evenly coated with oil and seasonings.
  5. Preheat air fryer:
Heat your air fryer at 390°F (198°C) for 2 minutes.
  6. Air fry the pasta:
Place the seasoned pasta into the air fryer basket or tray in a single layer.
  7. First cook:
Cook for 6 minutes at 390°F.
  8. Stir and finish:
Open the air fryer, shake or stir the pasta, then cook for another 1–3 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  9. Serve and enjoy:
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce like chipotle mayo, ranch, or a homemade dip!

 Tips & Tricks

  • Try different pasta shapes like penne, farfalle, or rotini — just make sure they’re not too thick or broken.
  • Use freshly grated cheese for better texture.
  • Add your favorite herbs or spices before air frying for more flavor.
  • These chips go great with a creamy dip like chipotle sauce or Chick-fil-A copycat sauce.

 Notes

  • Cook pasta al dente (firm, not soft), as it continues to cook in the air fryer.
  • Make sure the pasta pieces are similar in size so they cook evenly.
  • Don’t use broken pasta or crumbs, as they may overcook or burn.
  • If the pasta topping is too wet or creamy (like a rarebit-style mix), you may need to adjust the cook time.
