Air Fryer Quesadilla

🌮 Air Fryer Quesadilla Recipe

⭐️ Serves: 1-2

⏱️ Cook Time: 8–10 minutes

🍽️ Cuisine: Mexican-American

🛒 Ingredients:

Base:

  • 2 flour tortillas (8-10 inch size)

  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)

Optional Fillings:

  • Cooked chicken, steak, or ground beef (about 1/2 cup)

  • Sautéed peppers & onions

  • Black beans or refried beans

  • Jalapeños

  • Corn

  • Fresh cilantro

For brushing:

  • Olive oil or melted butter (optional, for a golden finish)

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer

    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  2. Assemble Quesadilla

    • Lay one tortilla flat.

    • Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly across the tortilla.

    • Add your choice of fillings (don’t overstuff — it can make flipping harder).

    • Add another light layer of cheese on top of the fillings (to help the top tortilla stick).

    • Place the second tortilla on top.

  3. Secure the Quesadilla (optional)

    • Lightly press down on the quesadilla.

    • You can use toothpicks to help keep it from lifting in the air fryer, or just weigh it down slightly with the air fryer rack if you have one.

  4. Brush the Outside (optional)

    • Brush the top with a little olive oil or melted butter for extra crispness and color.

  5. Air Fry

    • Carefully place the quesadilla in the air fryer basket.

    • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook another 3–4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Cool & Slice

    • Remove and let cool for 1–2 minutes.

    • Slice into wedges with a pizza cutter or sharp knife.

🍽️ Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with sour cream, guacamole, salsa, or hot sauce.

  • Add a side of Mexican rice or a simple salad for a complete meal.

📝 Tips:

  • Don’t overfill the quesadilla — too much filling may cause it to split.

  • Use shredded cheese for the best melt.

  • You can also use a single tortilla folded in half (for a half-moon shape) instead of two full tortillas.
