Sausage & Cheese Breakfast Casserole.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (pork, chicken, or turkey)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk (or half-and-half for creamier texture)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or mix of cheddar & mozzarella)
  • 4 cups frozen hash browns (shredded or cubed, thawed)
  • 1 small onion, diced (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for color & flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Cook sausage: In a skillet, cook sausage (and onion if using) until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Prepare baking dish: Grease a 9Ă—13-inch baking dish. Spread thawed hash browns evenly at the bottom.
  3. Layer sausage & cheese: Sprinkle cooked sausage over the hash browns, then top with 1 ½ cups of shredded cheese.
  4. Make egg mixture: In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Assemble: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage & hash browns. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  6. Bake: Place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes, or until eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Cool & serve: Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
