BLT Sandwich (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato)!

🥪 Classic BLT Sandwich Recipe

🍽️ Servings: 1

⏱️ Ready in: 10–15 minutes

✅ Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, whole wheat, or your favorite)

  • 4–6 slices of bacon (regular or thick-cut)

  • 2–3 slices of ripe tomato

  • 2–3 leaves of crisp lettuce (Romaine or Iceberg are ideal)

  • 1–2 tablespoons mayonnaise

  • Salt & freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

  • Butter (optional, for toasting the bread)

🔧 Instructions:

  1. Cook the bacon:

    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy (about 6–8 minutes).

    • Drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.

  2. Toast the bread:

    • Toast the bread slices to golden brown — in a toaster or butter them and toast in a skillet.

  3. Assemble the sandwich:

    • Spread mayo generously on one or both slices of bread.

    • Layer lettuce first (to keep the bread from getting soggy).

    • Add sliced tomatoes. Season tomatoes lightly with salt and pepper.

    • Pile on the crispy bacon.

    • Top with the second slice of bread.

  4. Slice & serve:

    • Cut diagonally (for the classic look) or straight across.

    • Serve with chips, pickles, or a side salad.

🔄 Optional Add-Ons:

  • Avocado slices or guac

  • Fried egg (for a breakfast-style BLT)

  • Cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)

  • Hot sauce or sriracha mayo for a kick

📝 Tips:

  • Use thick-cut bacon for extra crunch.

  • Toasting the bread is a must — it makes the sandwich sturdy and flavorful.

  • Use ripe, in-season tomatoes for the best taste (they’re the heart of the BLT!).
