Caramelized Garlic Pork Ribs

Sticky, savory, and packed with umami—this simple dish turns pork ribs into a restaurant-worthy meal with pantry staples.

🧾 Ingredients:

1 kg pork ribs, cut into small pieces

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp sugar or honey (for caramelization)

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp cooking oil

1/4 cup water

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Marinate the Ribs

In a bowl, combine:

Pork ribs

Soy sauce

Oyster sauce

Hoisin sauce

Sugar or honey

Black pepper

Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes (longer = deeper flavor). Cover and refrigerate if marinating longer than 30 minutes.

2. Sauté the Garlic

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté until lightly golden and fragrant (about 30 seconds).

3. Sear the Ribs

Add the marinated pork ribs to the pan. Sear and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until all sides are browned.

4. Sigmer and Caramelize

Add 1/4 cup water to the pan.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let the sauce thicken and caramelize, coating the ribs in a sticky, glossy glaze.

5. Serve

Once the ribs are tender and glazed, remove from heat.
Serve hot over steamed rice or with a side of stir-fried vegetables.

🌟 Tips:

You can add chili flakes or fresh red chili for a spicy kick.

Swap honey for brown sugar for a deeper caramel flavor.

For extra tender ribs, simmer slightly longer with a splash more water.
