Ingredients

01 1 lb ground beef
02 ½ cup diced onion
03 ¼ tsp salt
04 ¼ tsp pepper
05 1 (11 oz) tube refrigerated French bread dough
06 ⅓ cup ketchup
07 3 tbsp mustard
08 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
09 2 dill pickle spears, chopped
10 8 slices American cheese
11 1 egg, beaten
12 1 tbsp sesame seeds
13 Thousand Island dressing for dipping

Instructions

Step 01

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.

Step 02

In a skillet, brown the ground beef and diced onion. Season with salt and pepper, then drain any excess fat.

Step 03

Roll out the French bread dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread ketchup and mustard evenly over the surface.

Step 04

Layer the cooked beef mixture, crumbled bacon, chopped pickles, and American cheese slices evenly over the dough.

Roll the dough tightly, starting from one edge. Seal the edges by pinching and place the loaf seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush the loaf with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly across the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the loaf to cool for 5 minutes. Slice and serve with Thousand Island dressing for dipping.
