🍮 No Oven, No Flour — 10-Minute Dessert
⭐️ Ready in: 10 minutes
🍽️ Servings: 3–4 small bowls or cups
👩🍳 Difficulty: Super Easy
📝 Ingredients:
1 egg yolk
120 g sugar (about 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp)
90 g cornstarch (about 3/4 cup)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
500 ml milk (about 2 cups)
🔪 Instructions:
Step 1: Combine Dry Ingredients
In a medium saucepan off the heat, whisk together:
120 g sugar
90 g cornstarch
Make sure there are no lumps before adding the wet ingredients.
Step 2: Add Egg Yolk and Milk
Add:
1 egg yolk
A small amount of milk (about 1/4 cup)
Whisk until smooth. Then gradually pour in the remaining milk while whisking continuously to keep it lump-free.
Step 3: Cook the Mixture
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly with a whisk or wooden spoon.
The mixture will start to thicken after 5–7 minutes.
Continue stirring until it reaches a smooth, pudding-like texture.
Step 4: Add Vanilla
Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in:
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Mix well until fully incorporated.
Step 5: Serve
Pour into small cups, bowls, or ramekins.
You can:
Serve warm for a cozy pudding-like dessert
Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes for a chilled, firmer texture
🍫 Optional Toppings:
Dust with cinnamon or cocoa powder
Add crushed nuts or fresh fruit
Drizzle with sugar-free chocolate syrup
📝 Notes:
Make it dairy-free by using almond or oat milk (texture may vary slightly).
For a richer taste, add a small knob of butter at the end while still warm.
