Keto Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

Ground beef, peppers, and cheese fill toasted buns for a savory, cheesy, and hearty weeknight meal.

01 1 green bell pepper, chopped
02 1 red bell pepper, chopped
03 1 orange bell pepper, chopped
04 1 white onion, chopped
05 3 tablespoons oil
06 2 lbs ground beef
07 Salt, to taste
08 Pepper, to taste
09 2 ounces cream cheese
10 3 tablespoons ketchup
11 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
12 2 teaspoons garlic powder
13 1/2 cup water
14 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
15 4 hamburger buns

Steps

Step 01

In a large pan, sauté the chopped peppers and onion in oil over medium-high heat until tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 02

Brown the ground beef in the same pan, seasoning with salt and pepper. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Step 03

Return the cooked beef to the pan along with the sautéed peppers and onion. Add cream cheese, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, water, salt, and pepper. Stir thoroughly and heat over medium heat until thickened and bubbling.

Step 04

Turn off the heat, sprinkle shredded cheese over the mixture, and stir until the cheese is melted and evenly incorporated. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.

Step 05

Serve the cheesesteak mixture on toasted hamburger buns. Optionally, top with additional shredded cheese.
