Ingredients:
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup hot sauce (optional)
1/4 cup green onions, chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 package of empanada dough or pie crust
Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, hot sauce, green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
2. Roll out the empanada dough and cut into circles if not pre-cut.
3. Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over and seal the edges with a fork.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the empanadas in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
5. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
