Polish Mashed Potatoes with Dill and Sour Cream

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and cubed
  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 250 ml sour cream
  • 120 ml milk or heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil Potatoes: Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Drain and Mash: Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash with a potato masher until smooth.
  3. Add Ingredients: Add the butter, sour cream, and milk or cream to the potatoes. Stir until well combined and creamy.
  4. Season: Stir in the fresh dill and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve: Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving bowl. Garnish with extra dill and a pat of butter if desired.
