Amish Cinnamon Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard-sized loaf pan.
  2. Prepare the Batter:
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine non-fat Greek yogurt, eggs, applesauce, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  3. Create Cinnamon-Sugar Swirl:
    • In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon to create the cinnamon-sugar swirl.
  4. Layer the Batter:
    • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar swirl evenly over the batter. Add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar swirl.
  5. Swirl and Bake:
    • Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the batter, creating a marbled effect. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Slice:
    • Allow the Amish Cinnamon Bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice and savor the homemade goodness.
