🧄🧈 Garlic Butter Lobster and Scallops
Succulent lobster tails and tender scallops seared and bathed in a luscious garlic butter sauce. Ready in 20 minutes!
🕒 Total Time: 20–25 minutes
Servings: 2–3
✨ Ingredients:
Seafood:
2 lobster tails (about 5–6 oz each), split in half
1/2 lb large sea scallops (about 8–10)
Salt & pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
Optional: squeeze of lemon
Garlic Butter Sauce:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
4–5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or paprika for a kick
🔪 Instructions:
1. Prep the Seafood:
Pat scallops and lobster dry with paper towels.
Season with salt and pepper.
Use kitchen shears to cut through the top of lobster shells if needed, and gently pull meat out to sit on top (for that beautiful presentation).
2. Sear the Scallops:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add scallops and sear 2–3 minutes per side (don’t move them while searing!). They should have a golden crust and be just opaque in the center.
Remove and set aside.
3. Cook the Lobster:
In the same skillet, lower heat to medium. Add lobster tails, flesh-side down first.
Sear for 2 minutes, then flip and cook shell-side down for another 4–5 minutes, basting with a bit of butter, until opaque and firm.
4. Make the Garlic Butter:
In a separate small saucepan (or wipe out skillet), melt butter over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in lemon juice, zest, and parsley.
5. Serve:
Plate the lobster and scallops.
Spoon the hot garlic butter generously over the top.
Garnish with parsley and a squeeze of lemon.
🥂 Serve With:
Creamy mashed potatoes
Garlic butter pasta
Grilled asparagus or sautéed spinach
A crisp white wine (like Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc)
