Homemade Easy lemon cake


  • 1 box (18.25 oz) lemon cake mix
  • 1 container (6 oz) fat-free lemon yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lemon cake mix, lemon yogurt, water, egg whites, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, you can dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar if desired.
  7. Slice and serve!
